This policy explains what personal data Orivio Luxury collects when you use our website or rent a car from us, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We handle personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and other applicable UAE law.
Orivio Luxury Car Rental (اوريفيو لكجري لتأجير السيارات), Office 02, Fronds Building, Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Goze Industrial Third, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is responsible for your personal data. For any privacy question or request, email info@orivioluxury.ae or call +971 56 210 4446.
What we collect
- Contact and booking details: your name, mobile number, email, date of birth, nationality, whether you live in the UAE, rental dates, delivery and collection addresses, and any notes you add.
- Identity and licence documents: copies of your passport, visa or entry stamp, Emirates ID and driving licences, and those of any additional driver.
- Payment details: what you paid and how. Card numbers are handled by the payment provider or card terminal; we do not store full card numbers.
- Rental records: the car's condition at delivery and return, kilometres, fuel, traffic fines, Salik tolls and any accident or damage reports.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form, WhatsApp, phone or email.
- Website use: technical data needed to run the site securely, such as your IP address and browser type, and, only if you accept analytics cookies, how you use the site.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To handle your booking and rental (to perform our contract with you): checking availability, confirming the price, delivering and collecting the car, and staying in touch during the rental.
- To check you can drive the car (to perform the contract, and our legal obligations): verifying age, identity and licence before handover.
- To deal with fines, tolls, accidents and insurance (legal obligations and our legitimate interests): passing fines and black points to the driver as the law requires, and handling insurance claims and police reports.
- To keep financial, tax and VAT records (legal obligations).
- To keep the website and our systems secure and prevent fraud and spam (legitimate interests).
- To understand how the website is used (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Cookie settings).
We do not use your data for automated decisions that significantly affect you, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
- Our team, only as needed to handle your rental.
- Service providers that run parts of our service for us under contract: website hosting (Vercel), our database and private document storage (Supabase, with servers in Mumbai, India), email delivery (Resend), address search and distance (Google Maps), bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics. WhatsApp messages are carried by WhatsApp (Meta).
- Car owners and fleet partners whose car you rent, where they need your details for insurance, fines or registration purposes.
- Insurers, the police, the Roads and Transport Authority and other authorities, where needed for an accident, a fine, an insurance claim or a legal requirement.
Transfers outside the UAE
Some of these providers store or process data outside the UAE, for example in India, the European Union or the United States. We use providers that protect personal data to a standard consistent with UAE law, and only transfer what is needed for the service they provide.
How long we keep it
- Identity and licence documents: deleted automatically 12 months after your rental is closed, because traffic fines can arrive months later.
- Booking, payment and tax records: kept for at least five years, as UAE tax law requires.
- Messages: kept as long as needed to deal with your request or rental.
- Analytics data: kept for up to 14 months.
How we protect it
Documents are stored in private storage that only our team can open, through links that expire after a short time, and are never sent by email. Access to our systems is limited to staff who need it and protected by sign-in. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
Your rights
Under UAE law you can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal data we hold about you and a copy of it;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data, or restrict how we use it, where we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it;
- stop using your data where we rely on our legitimate interests, or stop analytics if you withdraw your consent;
- move data you gave us to another provider, where this applies.
Email info@orivioluxury.ae with your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we reply within 30 days. Some data we must keep by law, for example records needed for fines or tax. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
Children
Our services are for adults who meet our driver requirements. We do not knowingly collect data about children.
